Chamartín District

Chamartín was a medieval hamlet of barely a dozen families growing wheat and grapes, officially annexed to Madrid in 1948. The extension of Paseo de la Castellana and the opening of Chamartín station (1967) transformed it into one of the capital's most important residential and financial districts.
