Aravaca

Aravaca was an independent municipality documented as early as 1575 in Philip II's Topographic Reports as a hamlet of some 640 inhabitants. It maintained its rural character for centuries between the hunting estates of Monte de El Pardo and Casa de Campo, until its annexation to Madrid in 1951. In 1970 it was incorporated into the Moncloa Aravaca district.
