La Moraleja

La Moraleja originated as a 1,150-hectare holm oak estate belonging to the Spanish Crown, later acquired by the Count of los Gaitanes. In 1946 its development plan was approved as a garden city, with the rule that 70% of the land must remain green. Today it covers some 950 hectares with approximately 1,050 detached houses and 400 townhouses.
